Still Human

Poster Heroes 2026 edition

The artwork is inspired by Antonio Canova’s famous sculpture “Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss” (1787-1793): the most famous embrace in the history of art.

The original sculpture combines art, craftsmanship, and the narrative of a myth, three distinctive human characteristics, and is one of their highest expressions. Canova’s sculpture was based on the mathematical calculation of proportions, of light on marble, of the balance of weights, but everything was placed at the service of an emotion.

Cupid (hand-drawn on the sculpture) awakens Psyche with a kiss that is both physical delicacy and a vital spark, and the reason (digitalized in the artwork with pixel effects and binary codes) comes back to life thanks to a purely human gesture: tenderness, emotional intelligence, empathy.

Technology only makes sense when it is a human tool, never when it replaces it. The machine can simulate, calculate, generate infinite variations, but it cannot reawaken anything: this is why we are proud to remain human.
